Snooze: The Lost Art of Sleep

cgrzeslo

Do you have trouble sleeping?

If you said yes, you are not alone.

It is estimated that 1 in 2 adults have trouble going to sleep and/or staying asleep.

It is important to get enough sleep as sleep helps us to keep our minds and bodies healthy.

There are many benefits of getting a good night's sleep including:

  • reduced illness

  • a more attentive mind

  • regulating blood sugar

  • stronger heart

  • greater mood stability

  • stress relief

Several strategies have been shown to contribute to getting a good night's sleep such as:

  • creating a consistent sleep schedule

  • making a quality sleep environment

  • avoiding the use of caffeine/nicotine/alcohol before bed

  • avoiding screen time at least 30 minutes before bed

  • exercising during the day

If you struggle with sleep and would like more support, speak with your healthcare provider.
