Did You Know:
September is Arthritis Awareness Month!
Arthritis is a term often used to mean any disorder that affects joints
Inflammatory arthritis includes a group of conditions whereby the body’s defense system begins to attack the tissues of joints instead of germs, viruses and other foreign substances.
The most common forms of inflammatory arthritis include rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis.
Symptoms generally include joint pain and stiffness, and may include redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased range of motion of the affected joints.
Inflammatory arthritis affects people of every age, gender and ethnic background.
Genetics, age and lifestyle can all play a part in increasing one’s risk of developing inflammatory arthritis.
