Did You Know:

  • September is Arthritis Awareness Month!

  • Arthritis is a term often used to mean any disorder that affects joints

  • Inflammatory arthritis includes a group of conditions whereby the body’s defense system begins to attack the tissues of joints instead of germs, viruses and other foreign substances.

  • The most common forms of inflammatory arthritis include rheumatoid arthritis (RA), ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis.

  • Symptoms generally include joint pain and stiffness, and may include redness, warmth, swelling, and decreased range of motion of the affected joints.

  • Inflammatory arthritis affects people of every age, gender and ethnic background.

  • Genetics, age and lifestyle can all play a part in increasing one’s risk of developing inflammatory arthritis.
