About the event

Time: 10:00AM - 11:00AM

Location: Burlington Central Library

Join  Burlington Family Health Team Psychotherapist and Social Worker, Tara  Salehi Varela to learn about the benefits of nature on mental health. In  this session, she will discuss how mindfulness and intentional daily  activities in nature support our mental and physical well-being. This  session will provide information on how nature has the potential to  improve mood and focus, decrease stress, improve quality of sleep, and  create a sense of belonging. After the talk, participants will have the  opportunity to engage in an experiential activity focused on connecting  with nature through the five senses. Following this, participants will  have the rest of the hour to enjoy the walk, reflect on their  experience, and ask any questions about mental health.
